It was already exciting when we knew one of our neighbours would be having their wedding at St Mark’s church in Cautley, but when they booked St Marks Stays to stay in, it was pretty special. Our first wedding celebrations!

Mary and Jonny, got married in our local church in the summer of 2018 and everything about their wedding was about the location they live in. Like us, they love where they live and appreciate everything it has to offer. So they used local venues, companies and suppliers and made their wedding very much their own style. It was perfect.

For me, (Joanne) it was a dream come true to have another wedding photographer in the house and yes I love Flo Brooks for what she captured and especially in our home. It is so nice when somebody else notices all the little details. We are sharing just a small selection of Flo’s photography and massive thanks to her for sharing the images with us.

Another thank you to Jonny and Mary and their families for picking our place so that we could share in your beautiful day and for letting us show your gorgeous wedding images.

Mary and her bridesmaids got ready at St Marks Stays and the level of co-ordination was impressive! Only joking. It was a complete accident that the dressing gowns matched the bedroom curtains and lounge colour palette.

With a short walk across the road to the church in Cautley, followed by a short walk to their own garden for drinks afterwards, this has to be the most convenient wedding ever.

The couple chose to use Sedbergh’s People’s Hall for their wedding reception venue. They had decorated it themselves the day before and guests were treated to a bus ride down to the hall. The flowers came from Clodhopper Blooms and the cheese cake was from Churchmouse Cheeses.

They had the most stunning backdrops of the Howgill Fells and as the sun went down across the local field next to the hall, everybody got to dance their socks off to the band and the cèilidh dancing.
