If you have ever heard about sound baths, or singing bowls and wondered what on earth they are, I can highly recommend getting in touch with Laura-Jane Clare if you are coming to stay here.
I have had a the luxury of having Laura-Jane set up her Quartz crystal singing bowls here in our studio for a groups of friends for a sound healing session and she was so informative before we had even lay down to chill out! I have also been to her session space in Dent for an individual sound healing experience and they are just beautiful. Some of my friends said they had the best night’s sleep they had had in a long time after the singing bowl session in our studio.
In brief terms, singing bowls vibrate and produce tones when played / struck by the practitioner and are said to promote powerful healing properties, aid relaxation and decrease stress, balance the body and improve sleep. You lay down and get comfortable, whilst experts like Laura-Jane position the bowls and use them to their required effect.
You can also find Laura-Jane at Dent Meditation Centre, which is a beautiful place to go and reset yourself from our busy lives.
Laura-Jane can work with individuals, groups and retreats and her primary focus is on the spiritual, therapeutic roots of yoga, sound healing and sacred meditation, with sessions ranging from 90 minutes, through to whole days and courses even.
The benefits of these complimentary healing practices are well documented and during sessions, breath practice and sacred sound, create an expansion of consciousness, that Laura-Jane feels allows long standing holding patterns, that are physical, mental, or emotional, to gently begin to release. She can work safely with all levels of health and capacity and people feel deeply relaxed and refreshed after treatments.
To quote Laura-Jane, “As long as you can breathe, you will benefit.”
For Laura-Jane, yoga has been a central part of her life since she was a teenager and she still feels that passion for its universal message 40 years on. Her greatest joy is to witness people reclaim their unique personal power and life direction. When she is not helping people via her practice, she loves to grow food and flowers on her allotment and you will also find her walking, jogging and swimming in the beautiful landscape of the Northern hills and Dales.
I would absolutely recommend trying a session for yourself, or booking Laura-Jane for your retreat . When I asked her what her advice would be if anyone was unsure if to arrange a session and her perfect response was, “If what I do resonates with your soul, you will know and be drawn to attend a session and I look forward to meeting you.”
My advice if you are wondering – do it. Your totally relaxed body and mind will thank you for it.
