Since we moved in to St Marks Stays, the Sedbergh Gala had never been held, so it was lovely to be able to see the return of it this May and understand what it means to the community to have it back.
Featuring local businesses and the community, the gala had everything from alpacas to circus tricks. Starting with a procession through Sedbergh led by the town band, the gala had a fancy dress competition, live music from Kendal Kev and Drum Nation and even a dog show judged by Heather of Ollie Collie. The British Open Fell Runners Association held some of their events during the afternoon with the adult entries racing up Winder Fell.
The gala committee is purely volunteers and there was nothing but praise for what this small team had achieved in bringing back the gala to the town and I know they would welcome more volunteers and community spirit in ensuring this event becomes a regular feature for families to enjoy year after year.

Hi, I am wondering what stalls you will have at the gala tomorrow please?
Many thanks

Hello Lisa,
This blog was from a few years go, taken just as my experience of going to it and I am not part of the committee to be able to advise. If you look up Visit Sedbergh they may have some more information for you.
Hope that helps.
Best wishes, Joanne
