Since moving to Cumbria we have been trying our hand at more and more adventure activities and recently we stepped Into the Outside for adventure with the awesome team that are Becki and Dan of Into The Outside.
It all started with a question on Instagram about being a Green Small Business and then the wonderful Dan and Becki appeared in our garden and we were sold on their enthusiasm for the outdoors and their passion for what they do. Since meeting earlier this year we have been on a few adventures with them and have our eye on trying more.
So far we have been rock climbing and ghyll scrambling with them in two different locations and come away with a couple of souvenir bruises, fantastic memories and a collaboration of our retreat planned with them for September 2021. Yep life moves fast when you enter the wild side with these two!
If you have followed our journey, or been on holiday with us, you will know by now, that I (Joanne) am quite the over-thinking scaredy-cat, so to push a few more comfort zones is always a step away from only living a life watching others do exciting things. Well I survived and have to say that Becki and Dan are super encouraging, but always have your safety in mind at all times.
The water jumps in the ghyll scrambling are optional and despite me not being the most graceful in our groups, I did at least try to beat my fear of heights and falling. So basically, if I can do this, then take comfort in the thought that if you have always wanted to try these things, but never have, you are in expert hands with Dan and Becki.
We can’t recommend them enough and with limited places on our September retreat, head over to the page for more information on grabbing a place.
In the words of Becki herself;
“Outdoor adventure is about pushing your boundaries and giving it a good go. It’s all about calming your thoughts and focusing on what you need to do, once focused you put fear to the back of your mind.”
My feelings are you won’t regret it. Have real adventures to fill your Instagram squares, not fake poses. Life is to be lived and explored and a lot of laughs along the way make it just superb.
