If you are looking to do something a little closer to St Marks Stays, the National Trust property of Sizergh Castle and Garden is really worth a visit.
Located 4 miles south of Kendal in the Lake District and a half hour drive from us here in Cautley, Sizergh Castle is a Grade I listed building with a history dating back to the fourteenth century and still home to the latest generation of the Strickland family.
For me, currently in the process of deciding what to do with our garden at St Marks, the gardens were a highlight and especially the allotment section, where there is an honesty box for buying various plants and herbs.
