St Marks Stays is group holiday accommodation and retreat venue where you book the whole house for a minimum of two nights. It has two lounges, dining room, eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a multi purpose studio, downstairs toilet and fully equipped self-catering kitchen. The garden includes a barbeque, firepit, sauna and cold plunge ice bath. There is parking and EV charging point. We are dog friendly

As we are not a hotel, we provide towels for your stay, but these are not changed throughout you stay. There is hand and body wash, but no shampoo. There are a couple of hairdryers to share between the rooms. There is access to a commercial washing machine and tumble dryer and we have an ironing board and iron. We don’t have tea and coffee, or TVs in the bedrooms as this is a house with these facilities downstairs. We have one travel cot, but no highchairs and we are not set up to be baby and toddler proof.

8 Bedrooms. Sleeps up to 16 maximum.
5 of the Bedrooms can be set up as twin, or double beds.

Felucca : Top Floor
Felucca is a double room with window view across to the church of St Marks. This room shares a bathroom with our Quito room. The bathroom has a toilet, sink and bath with a shower over it.

Quito is a double bed room with a window view over the garden from the top floor. This room shares a bathroom with our Felucca room. The bathroom has a toilet, sink and bath with a shower over it.

As you can see, our apartment is next to the studio, which is why we ask for it not to be used as a play room, bunkroom, or party place. The proximity to our living area is also why we ask for your retreat schedules in advance of your stay, so we can plan our time, meetings etc so we are not doing any noisy activities during your retreat time in there.
Self-Catering Kitchen and Catering Options
St Marks Stays is a self-catering kitchen
The kitchen has an Aga, a gas hob and a double electric oven. There is a fridge freezer (standard kitchen size and hence the freezer is not that big.) and a smaller under the counter fridge. There is a dishwasher, microwave and bean to cup coffee machine. We have most pans, crockery, glasses and kitchen equipment for group catering and dining.
We provide store room basics for you such as salt, pepper, tin foil and oil for your cooking, along with cleaning materials. There is a starter amount of tea, coffee & sugar but we don’t cater for your whole stay, or provide milk.
There is a small Spar in Sedbergh, butcher and greengrocer and the nearest larger supermarkets are in Kendal. We can happily be here to take in a food delivery for you in advance of your stay if you organise the time slot with us. Asda, Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s deliver to St Marks Stays. We just ask that you tick to say no plastic bags, because we get left with them and would rather not have more plastic waste.

Sedbergh is 3 miles away so a 5 mins drive, or 1.5 hr walk. We can send you a pdf for cafes, pubs and restaurants in the area and further afield.

Planning a residential workshop, creative course, or health and wellbeing retreat, then our studio is the perfect place to feel calm and also generate that spark of inspiration.
Suitable for activities such as coaching, team building, creative workshops, yoga, sound baths, pilates, meditation and as far as your imagination can take you. See blog for more photos of activities taking place in the studio for inspiration.
We do ask that it is not used as a playroom, bunkroom, or party place though please.
The studio measures 6.7 x 5.1mtrs and can fit 9-13 yoga mats in. We have yoga equipment for 16, because you can squeeze 16 yoga mats on to the outdoor garden decking. We have 12 tables and 10-12 chairs that can be moved in and out. There is a projector, Bluetooth speaker and WiFi available.
