If we had your interest in the title of Why Not Alpacas, then you are going to love this blog post.
In our early days of driving back to the house in Cautley, Joanne was sure she had seen alpacas in a field and then what do you know, she came across local company Why Not Alpacas just down the road. Well that was one of the first emails fired off to say ‘hello, we’re new to the area and we’d love to come down and see you.’
Finally in July we went along to support the farm’s open day in aid of Marie Curie and if we can recommend one thing to make you totally smile, it is a visit here. The owners are very welcoming, the gardens are beautiful and the alpacas and the baby ones (crias) are just so adorable. They are also very curious which was great for Joanne taking photographs.
They even had a little alpaca derby and Damian did back a winner, with Joanne’s coming third.
Robin and Caroline set up Ghyllas in 2000 and you can see from their website that they farm the alpacas for fleece, show them, sell products made from the fibres and you can even buy, or adopt an alpaca.
